These motivated and enterprising young people were city of Detroit employed assigned to the golf course and took my class before heading off to work. Some of the things covered included: greetings, introductions and lasting impressions, the difference between golf and country club etiquette, dress, diction and attitude when someone applies for a job. By the end of day 2, their firm handshakes and maintaining good eye contact skills were getting plenty of practice with the patrons of Chandler Park Golf Course who I'm sure were like "Who ARE these kids?" On day 3 we covered navigating and identifying a place setting, extending and responding to invitations, and the rules of and 5 parts of thank you notes. On the last day we discussed assumptions and being sized up, the importance Magic Words, officially removing certain words from their vocabulary. The only young man in camp discussed, analyzed and serenaded us to Treat Her Like A Lady.
